Can we work together to find the healthy balance of cultural, political, and economic life in our community?
Threefold Driftless was conceived in February 2022, during a conversation that took place after a public talk on threefolding given by Robert Karp and Seth Jordan in Viroqua, WI. The question was asked of the group: do we want to try to do community organizing informed by social threefolding? And the answer was given: yes!
Out of that conversation has grown the Threefold Driftless Working Group. The work of the group is constantly evolving. We meet weekly to study and take action. Our aim is to grow both in our understanding of threefolding, as well as the particular possibilities of the local region and community, and out of that understanding take action in whatever ways best serve its healthy development.
Some of our actions, so far, include:
hosting a community conversation (August 2022) on “How can Culture, Politics, & Business Work Together in the Driftless?” followed up the next day by an all-day workshop.
hosting two weekend workshops (December 2022) on deepening our threefold understanding of healthcare and housing, including two “case clinics” looking at local challenges
Organizing a weekend intensive workshop (March 2023) on Rudolf Steiner’s book Towards Social Renewal
Coming together for a retreat and the gathering of initiatives to begin prototyping (May 2023)
